Since 1999: A Foundation Built on Regional Legacy

The EICPA Association draws on a deep regional heritage that has evolved since 1999 through the efforts of its founding organisations. This legacy became the foundation for the Association’s institutional development and played a meaningful role in advancing the accountancy and audit profession across the Eurasian region.

2011: EICPA Association Brand developed

The new EICPA Association brand was created in 2011, establishing a unified visual identity that would represent the Association's professional values and regional mission. This brand foundation became a key element in building institutional recognition and supporting the Association's communication strategy as it evolved toward formal establishment and international engagement.

2013: A Milestone in Qualification Architecture

A major milestone in the Association’s development was the signing of a Memorandum in 2013 in Seoul, Republic of Korea, on the sidelines of the IFAC Council, to establish a unified international regional qualification framework. This laid the foundation for the EICPA Program and reflected a clear commitment to building an integrated, forward-looking, and internationally aligned professional framework.

2014: The Formal Establishment of EICPA Association

In 2014, the Resolution formally establishing the EICPA Association was signed. The Association was founded by leading national professional accountancy organisations from across the region, including IFAC member organisations, reinforcing its institutional authority, professional standing, and international relevance from its inception.

2015: International Presentation of the EICPA Brand

In 2015, the EICPA brand was officially presented in Singapore during the IFAC Council, at a meeting of the largest continental regional groups recognised by IFAC. This represented a significant step in the Association’s international positioning and affirmed its role in the wider global professional dialogue.

2016: Expanding Global Professional Engagement

In 2016, the Association took an active part in the World Congress of Accountants in Rome (WCOA 2016), strengthening its international engagement and expanding opportunities for global-level professional networking.

2018: Launching Eurasian Regional Integration

In 2018, on the sidelines of the World Congress of Accountants (WCOA 2018 in Australia), the Association initiated the creation of the Eurasian Regional Group — Accountancy Eurasia (ERGAA). The Resolution establishing the Group was signed by leading regional audit and accountancy organisations from 11 countries. In the same year, the Association sponsored WCOA 2018 in Australia and presented its activities and new professional solutions to a global audience, including an updated regional qualification framework and digital certificates verifiable through blockchain technology. With more than 5,000 participants from around the world, the Congress provided an important platform for international outreach, while the Association’s exhibition presence significantly enhanced its global communication and brand visibility.

2022: Expanding Access Through Global Dialogue

In 2022, in India, the Association, together with leading regional professional audit organisations, sponsored Russian-language interpretation for the World Congress of Accountants (WCOA 2022). For the first time, the Congress was broadcast in Russian, substantially widening access for Russian-speaking professionals to world-class knowledge, expert discussion, and the global professional agenda. With more than 6,000 participants from around the world, the Congress also provided a major platform for international engagement, and the Association’s exhibition participation further deepened its global professional connections and communication reach.
